Collage dance Collective is a contemporary ballet company dedicated to presenting choreography that explores the interface between modern, contemporary and classical dance by integrating movement, theatre and spoken word. This first-rate company has quickly developed a reputation for excellent classical technique, powerful dynamism and a repertoire that reaches the perfect balance of innovative and classic, unexpected and familiar. Collage is dedicated to a multi-cultural aesthetic and showcases choreography that illuminates the experiences of cultures evolving from the African Diaspora. The company is led by Artistic Director Kevin Thomas, former principal with Dance Theatre of Harlem. Mr. Thomas has amassed over twenty-five years of professional dance experience, holding other principal positions with Cleveland/San Jose Ballet and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. Mr. Thomas was also guest featured with numerous companies around the world including London’s Royal Ballet, New York’s Complexions Contemporary Ballet and Montreal’s Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie.

Sweet in the Morning – A classical and unique piece to the music of Bobby McFerrin, incorporating important and vibrant colors.

Encounter – A duet about a powerful secret encounter between a man and a woman.

Life Interrupted – A modern and barefoot duet about two slaves in love forced to separate as one of them is sold.

Rosa – A solo in tribute to Rosa Parks.

Capricious Chase – A neoclassical and contemporary piece of eight dancers.

Adagietto – Adapted from the Dance Theater of Harlem, this work is a love triangle between a woman and the man of her past and the man of her present.
