Memento Muerto
Memento Muerto is a dance narrative based on the colorful and vibrant Mexican Days of the Dead traditions. Centering around the importance of paying tribute to and honoring our ancestors, Ghosts, Spirits, Skeletons and even La Muerta (Lady Death) enter the land of the living and take viewers on an emotionally charged journey along the paths of family unity, cultural tradition and the everlasting bonds of love.

Utilizing ballet, modern, Flamenco, Mexican folkloric and Argentine Tango, the many vibrant and heartfelt customs that encompass this time-honored holiday, are brought to life. Music includes works by Peter Gabriel, Clint Mansell and traditional Mexican artists.

An Ethnic Nutcracker
‘World Dance Returns to this Modernized Tale’. Neville Dance Theatre’s multi-media production of The Nutcracker propels ballet’s most beloved work into the 21st century. Set in present-day New York to Tchaikovsky’s score, the production’s updated characters, activities and storyline put a refreshing and modern spin on the classic holiday tale. The ethnic dances are performed in their authentic forms - a rarity in most productions - with the inclusion of additional popular dance styles, such as Argentine Tango and Break Dance, enabling our ballet to appeal to and reflect the rich diversity found throughout communities and cultures in today’s world.

Ethnic Excerpts
This program includes pieces from many different countries and many different types of ethnic dance. Nations are represented through their traditional folk dance. This program will be tied together in a story line currently in progress.
