Kim Robards Dance (KRD) energizes and entices audiences with the driving physicality and broad dynamic range in the beautifully crafted choreography of Artistic Director Kim Robards. Based in Denver, KRD is a leader in contemporary dance in the western region with its sophisticated, inspiring and accessible approach to modern dance.  This company of eight to ten dancers is renowned for their incredible athleticism as performers and dedication as teachers. Experimenting with dynamic force and momentum, the work takes an aesthetic journey through movement landscapes covering vast amounts of space.

Kim Robards Dance recently performed to rave reviews at JK&A’s Booking DANCE FESTIVAL Edinburgh 2009 at the 600 seat Edinburgh International Conference Centre as part of the Edinburgh Fringe in Scotland. Additionally, the company received international critical acclaim with its performances in Beijing during the 2008 Summer Olympics with JK&A’s Booking DANCE FESTIVAL Beijing 2008, sharing the stage with the National Ballet of China and the Beijing Modern Dance Company, with whom they are negotiating a cultural exchange.. Kym Gym Megalomania – Explores the compulsive need of dancers and athletes to be at the top of physical fitness and focus. This work may be enjoyed for its comment on societal obsessions or purely for the high energy and athletic boundaries it breaks.

Surge – Profoundly impacts audiences by the intense journey projected. It explores our collective need to find roots even as chaos and confusion reign upon us.

d’Affair Soi Meme – A solo study of self-awareness through the innate conflict between the ego, mind, and heart. It is a piece of solid technique, clear strong line, and emotional power.

Moiety – Explores the ways in which relationships impact shared and solitary experiences. The work is an exchange between two entities, each of which leads at various points and each of which follows. It ponders the questions, "Is each part whole without the other?"

In Quietude – A duet for two men, designed to highlight the strength and power of the male dancer while simultaneously exploring plutonic and intimate aspects of male bonding and friendship.
